Below are 12 success principles that I have come up with over the years through personal experience and my beliefs. I will update this page as I learn more.
Rule #1: Be Grateful
Your attitude says a lot and defines the path where you will go. Someone who is always pessimistic will most likely overlook and not take up on opportunities that come their ways. Be grateful of what you already possess, rather than focusing on what you don’t have, then the world is a better place and you will be better equipped mentally to succeed in your life.
Rule #2: Pride Comes With a Hefty Price Tag
Next time you find yourself saying “Oh, I’m too good for that”, you’ve just missed an opportunity for something much bigger than your pride could afford.
Rule #3: Don’t Give Up
I’m sure you’ve all heard to never give up - but be smart to know when to cut your losses. Thus, I like “Don’t Give up” better to “Never Give Up.”
Rule #4: Be Careful Who You Associate With
Don’t underestimate the law of attraction. If you want to be successful, hang out with people who are more successful than you.
Rule #5: Give More Than You Take
Successful people produce more than they consume. Give more, then you shall receive more. It is a positive cycle. You should try it once in a while.
Rule #6: Don’t Just Work Smart, Work Hard!
Work smart, but more importantly, work hard! Action speaks louder than words, so get to work. Even giving (Rule #5) takes work!
Rule #7: Smile
Don’t question “Why?” Just do it - evening on a rainy day.
Rule #8: You Are Never Too Old
You are never too old to learn. You are never too old to change your career, to start doing something you truly love. Likewise, you are never too old to become successful.
Rule #9: If You Must Fail, Fail Fast
Because success is just right around the corner.
Rule #10: Find a Mentor
It is the quickest way to success - find a mentor who is successful and learn from him/her. Copy everything that he/she does and you will be successful in no time.
Rule #11: Forget About It!
Hind sight is 20/20 - so what if you missed an opportunity? So what if you failed? Forget about it! Move on because you can not change yesterday but you can control what will happen tomorrow.
Rule #12: Know Your Strengths and Weaknesses
Play to your strength and find someone to cover your weaknesses. If you want to be a know-it-all and do-it-all then you will fail miserably.
